Legalisation for China
Important to know
Legalisation of Documents Issued by Italian Authorities for the Use in China
China hasn’t signed the Hague Convention of April 5, 1961 which allows a simplified procedure for documents legalisation by means of Apostille. Therefore, a Consular legalisation is used in order to legalise the documents. Furthermore, the legalised document will be valid only on the territory of the Popular Republic of China.
However, the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao are indipendent members of the Hague Convention and for them the Apostille procedure is used.
In order to legalise the documents issued in Italy for their presentation in China the following procedure is applied:
1. Authentication by notary or in court,
2. Putting a stamp and a signature in Prefecture or Public Prosecutor’s Office,
3. Presentation of the documents and their copies to the Consular Department for legalisation.
For the legalisation of commercial agreements, charters, legal documents first of all it is necessary that they have been translated by an authorised translator in court and then legalised by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office.
VHS Srl occupies of the entire process including translation, authentication and legalisation of the document at the Consulate.
